Using Vivarin® Safely:

Is Vivarin® safe to use?

On average, most people who consume caffeine get about 250 mg of caffeine each day. Vivarin® comes in at 200 mg of caffeine per tablet, which is about the same as a cup of coffee. For most people, 200 mg is a safe amount of caffeine to consume.

However, you can have too much of a good thing! With too much caffeine you could start experiencing some side effects like increased heartbeat, anxiety, nausea, insomnia and dizziness.

Keep track of the caffeine your are consuming and cut back if you need to.

Can I use Vivarin® while drinking alcohol?

Don't use caffeine and alcohol at the same time. It might seem like the perfect way to stay pumped and loosen up at the same time, but these are two ingredients that shouldn't mix.

It all comes down to basic chemistry: caffeine is a stimulant and alcohol is a depressant. Guess what happens when the two mix? You throw your body out of whack.

The caffeine masks your alcohol “buzz,” so you end up drinking more than you should. You'll miss out on some natural signals from your body that you've had too much, which can put your blood alcohol levels way too high.

On top of that, both caffeine and alcohol are dehydrating - which makes it hard for your body to metabolize the alcohol. At the very least, you'll end up with a bad hangover the next day.

How much Vivarin® can I take?

Vivarin® is safe for adults and can be taken not more often than every three to four hours. Just so you know: Your mileage may vary with any caffeine product, depending on your age, health and body mass.
